ABOUT CHRIS GUNTHER

Chris Gunther is an on-air talent & media personality from Youngstown, OH. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications. From 2013-2017 he was on Rookery Radio Real College Radio as an on-air talent. From 2013 to 2014 he co-hosted “The KT & CG Show!” with Katherine Thompson and from 2014 to 2017, he got his own show “The Chris Gunther Show!” During his time on college radio, he interviewed celebrities in Gospel music such as Kirk Franklin, Deitrick Haddon, Geoffrey Golden, Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton and more along with covering YSU men and women’s basketball for two years. He also won several awards including the Who’s Who of YSU. In 2018, just a few months after graduating, he was invited to cover the Stellar Awards in Las Vegas. That same year, he continued his show from college “The Chris Gunther Show!”


Chris currently has over 600 interviews on his platform which includes some of the biggest names in the sports media including Stephen A. Smith, Chris Broussard, Rob Parker, Chris Haynes, Cari Champion, Taylor Rooks, Monica McNutt and more. He’s also interviewed some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry such as Mo’Nique, Morris Chestnut, Ice Cube, T.I., Jess Hilarious, DL Hughley, Tommy Davidson and more. He’s also worked with TV One, Cleo TV, KBLA Talk 1580, BET, the WNBA, the NBA, the Pro Football Hall of Fame and more.


With his sports background, he’s also interviewed NBA & NFL players such as Michael Vick, Ben Roethlisberger, Devin Hester, Josh Cribbs, Anthony Davis, Baron Davis, Stephon Marbury, Dominique Wilkins, Cheryl Miller, Cynthia Cooper, Tim Hardaway, Lamar Odom, Metta World Peace Matt Barnes and more. He’s also covered NFL camps for Deshaun Watson, Myles Garrett, Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr and others.

In 2021, he became the in-game host for the Cleveland Charge, the G League affiliate team of the Cleveland Cavaliers and in 2022, he was hand picked to host the first ever NBA G-League Next Gem Game. That same year, Chris was promoted to being the sideline reporter for the Charge where he served until 2024.
